Terms And Conditions  
Sonic Security Systems Limited 

It is important to read carefully our terms and conditions in relation to our contract with you before you make a purchase as you will be bound by these terms once the order is placed. 

GENERAL 

Definitions 

  • Agreement: the agreement between Sonic Security Systems Ltd. and the Customer, pursuant to which Sonic Security Systems shall provide the Alarm System and/or perform the Services, comprising these Conditions, the Order, any other documents referred to in these Conditions or posted on the Website, and any other terms agreed in writing between Sonic Security Systems and the Customer; 

  • Alert: an alert transmitted from the Security System, or any other Security system located at the Premises in respect of which Sonic Security Systems provides Services, upon the detection of a breach or other relevant activation at the Premises; 

  • Commencement Date: the date on which the Agreement commences, being the date on which the Customer confirms the installation details by email or phone. 

  • Communication Equipment: any part of the Security System that facilitates communication with the monitoring station, end user or allows connection to the internet. 

  • Conditions: these terms and conditions, as same may be amended by Sonic Security from time to time by publication on the Website; 

  • Contract: these Terms and any other documents referred to in the Terms. 

  • Control Equipment: any part of the security system which is used to control the peripherals of the security system, including the Control Panel, Recording Equipment, Monitors, Key Fobs, Remote Keypads, as notified to the customer from time to time. 

  • Emergency Service Provider: includes An Garda Síochána, fire authorities, the state health services or any other provider of an emergency service; 

  • Force Majeure Event: any event outside Sonic Security Systems reasonable control including but not limited to, breakdowns in telecommunications or internet services, severe weather conditions, burglary, vandalism, civil disorder, terrorist activity, war, government action, strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes, failure of a utility service and/or any acts, restrictions, regulations, by-laws, prohibitions or measures of any kind on the part of any governmental, parliamentary or local authority, electricity or electronic telecommunications or internet service provider, Emergency Service Provider or a relevant regulatory authority; 

  • Installation: the installation of the Alarm System at the Premises; 

  • Installation Date: the date of Installation and/or commencement of the Services; 

  • Minimum Term: a minimum term for which the Service will be provided to you of 12 months. 

  • Order: The Customer’s order for a Security System and/or Services or Products, as specified in an Application Form, or as notified to Sonic Security Systems by telephone or any other means of communication; 

  • Premises: the address at which the Security System will be installed. 

  • Price List: Sonic Security Systems price list(s) as set out in Appendix 1 or on the Website as same may be updated from time to time at Sonic Security Systems sole discretion; 

  • Retained Property: the external ‘decoy’ bell box, Control Equipment, Communication Devices and any other components of the Alarm System in respect of which ownership will remain with Sonic Security Systems, as notified to the Customer from time to time; 

  • Security System: the equipment or components to be installed at the Premises described on Our Website and/or as agreed with you from time to time. 

  • Signaling Equipment: any equipment which is activated upon an alert form the security system, including but not limited to bellbox, decoy box, strobe lights, speakers, internal sirens and buzzers. 

  • Terms: The terms set out in this agreement. 

  • We, Our or Us: Sonic Security Systems Limited, Unit 6 Rathcoole Shopping Centre, Main Street Rathcoole, Co. Dublin and, where applicable, Sonic Security Systems Limited employees, agents and subcontractors. 

  • Website: www.sonicsecurity.ie or www.sonicsecurity.systems  

  • You/Your or Customer: the customer that enters into the Contract with us as set out on conformation of your order. 

Advice & Information 

  • We are here to help and can provide you with help and guidance or direct you towards relevant information. If you have any queries relating to the security or fire safety needs of your home or business, please contact us. Although we will always endeavor to give you the best possible advice, the responsibility for ensuring that you are adhering to security and fire safety legislation, building regulations, other regulations or best practice remains with you. 

  • There is regulation with regards to the maintenance of many fire safety products. Fire extinguishers, for example, must be serviced every 12 months. You are responsible for setting up any service and maintenance programme required for the products which you purchased from us. 

Changes To the Terms and Conditions 
We may make changes to these terms and conditions at any time, if we do so we will give you at least 30 days' notice in writing before they take effect. This notice will be sent to the contact details you provide to us when you confirm you order. If you are unhappy with the changes made and wish to cancel as stated above you must give at least 30 days' notice in writing, if you do not contact us, you will be agreeing to the changes made. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights if you are a consumer. 
 

Liability 

Our Liability 

  • Sonic Security Systems not an insurer and the Customer acknowledges and accepts that Sonic Security Systems shall not as a consequence of its entry into an Agreement, have any liability whatsoever to the Customer for any damage to the Premises and/or any loss suffered by the Customer or any other party at the Premises (whether of contents or otherwise). 

  • Should we be held liable for any loss, damage, expense or 
    injury arising out of or in connection with any defect or malfunction of the Alarm System and/or the provision of the Service or in respect of any failure, interruption, or restriction of the Alarm System and/or the Service caused by any act, omission or negligence of ours, our total aggregate liability (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) shall not exceed five thousand euro (€5,000). 

  • Sonic Security Systems shall not under any circumstances have any liability to the Customer for any special, consequential or indirect loss whatsoever, or for any economic loss (including loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill or loss of business opportunity) whether foreseen or unforeseen and whether caused by the negligence of Sonic Security Systems or otherwise. 

  • Sonic Security Systems will make good any damage caused to the Premises by Sonic Security Systems in the course of the Installation or performance of the Services, however, for the avoidance of doubt, Sonic Security Systems shall not be responsible for the cost of repairing any pre-existing faults or damage to the Premises which is discovered in the course of the Installation and shall have no obligation to restore the Premises to its pre-installation condition following its removal of the Security System or any Retained Property in accordance with these Conditions. 

  • Nothing in these Conditions excludes or limits the liability of Sonic Security Systems for death or personal injury caused by Sonic Security Systems negligence, or for any matter which it would be illegal for Sonic Security Systems to exclude or attempt to exclude its liability or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. 

Your Liability 

  • test the Security System on a monthly basis in accordance with the instructions specified on the Website and/or as otherwise provided by Sonic Security Systems from time to time. 

  • promptly report any defects in the Security System and/or Services to Sonic Security Systems. 

  • ensure that the Security System is at all times kept safely and properly used and in connection therewith, the Customer shall: 
    (a)           while the Security System is not in use, ensure that the electricity supplied to it is not turned off; 
    (b)           not dispose of or deal with the Security System in any way by, for example, trying to sell it or hire it to anyone else, or by putting it up as security for a loan, mortgage or charge, or allow the Security System to be seized under any legal process; 
    (c)           not move the Security System to another location without Sonic Security Systems prior written consent; 
    (d)           not remove, tamper with or obliterate any words or labels on the Security System; 
    (e)           take proper care at all times to use the Security System in accordance with the user manual provided by Sonic Security Systems; 
    (f)            not allow third parties to service, maintain, add to and/or remove from the Security System in part or in total; 
    (g)           not to engage in any action that could hinder or inhibit Sonic Security Systems in the provision of the Services; and 
    (h)           comply with any other requirements notified by Sonic Security Systems from time to time. 

ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS 

Duration of the Contract 

The contract will begin from the date your installation is confirmed for the minimum term of 12 months. 

Access to Premises 

To maintain a consistent level of service we must be able to gain access to the premises with reasonable notice to carry out maintenance or modifications. 

Prices & Payment 

Prices will always be confirmed when the installation details and date are confirmed. 

Installation fees must be paid on completion of installation as specified in estimate or quotation. If payment is not made, Sonic Security Systems will not permit access to the system by means of locking out the system from the user and may remove all equipment. 

Estimates and Quotations 

Quotations and Estimates are valid for a period of 7 days from time of being sent. 

Any prices listed on our website are based on averages calculated from previous installations carried out. We can not be bound by guide prices listed on our website these are given as a guide only. 

All estimates and quotations are based on certain assumptions as listed below; 

  • We will have clear unobstructed access to all locations we need to gain access to install any system. 

  • Parking is available within 25 meters from the premises for all Sonic Security Systems vehicles. 

  • Clear unobstructed access to all required areas for the installation between the hours of 08.30 and 17.30 Monday to Friday. 

  • You do not change the system specifications from what was confirmed when scheduling the installation appointment. 

  • Any preexisting cabling that is in place must be in working order and capable of being utilised in the installation we are carrying out. 

  • If an internet connection is required, both the LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) must be of high quality and in working order. 

  • Sonic Security Systems must be able to safely access areas for cable runs using ladders or loft access. Employee safety will never be compromised for the aesthetic of a cable or equipment. 

  • All electrical supplies must be of good quality and in good working order. We will not be responsible for any issues arising from electrical faults once we have agreed with all locations with the customer. 

  • All limitations of the premises both structural and services have been fully disclosed. 

  • Working internet connection is available within 10 meters of control equipment. 

  • Fixed IP address is available and port forwarding is available if necessary to complete installation. 

Service Provided 

All services provided by Sonic Security Systems are carried out in line with Irish legislation. We will provide the service to you for the duration of the contract. 

The Customer shall be responsible for providing Sonic Security Systems with all information which it reasonably requires to enable it to perform the Services and for ensuring that all Emergency Instructions provided to Sonic Security Systems are accurate, complete and up to date.  

The Customer shall also be responsible for obtaining the consent of any nominated key holders.  

The Customer acknowledges that actions by Emergency Service Providers and the Customer’s nominated key holders following notification to them of an Alert are outside the control of Sonic Security Systems and accordingly Sonic Security Systems shall have no responsibility or liability for any acts or omissions of Emergency Service Providers and/or the Customer’s nominated keyholders (or their nominees), following the notification to them of an Alert.  

Where additional non-standard maintenance is required by a Customer that is not due to the fault or default of Sonic Security Systems, additional charges shall apply. 

The Services provided do not include visits to the Premises (or additional time spent at the Premises) for the purposes of: - 
a) rectifying any failure or malfunction of the Security System and/or the Services caused directly or indirectly by accident, neglect, misuse (other than the use for which it was intended) or by adverse environmental conditions, electrical current fluctuations (including failure of electrical power) or deliberate damage resulting from reckless, negligent or careless conduct (including omission) by the Customer or resulting from wear and tear other than in a respect of any failure or malfunction resulting from fair wear and tear; 
b) remedial maintenance necessitated by the undertaking of work on the Security System (including moving, relocation, conversion or adaptation) by anyone other than Sonic Security Systems unless approved by Sonic Security Systems and/or 
c) remedial maintenance necessitated by a Force Majeure Event. 

Warranty and Indemnity 

The Customer warrants to Sonic Security Systems that they are over 18 (eighteen) years of age, legally entitled to enter in to the Agreement and are: 
(i) the freeholder of the Premises; or 
(ii) a tenant of the Premises and have obtained the landlord’s approval to the Installation and/or commencement of the Services at the Premises. Customer agrees to provide Sonic Security with evidence of such landlord approval upon request. 
The Customer irrevocably agrees to indemnify Sonic Security Systems against any claims made against it (and related costs incurred by it) by: 
(i) Emergency Service Providers seeking reimbursement of their costs, where it is alleged by such Emergency Service Providers that their taking of action and/or attendance at the Premises as a consequence of the Services, was without just and sufficient cause; and 
(ii) the Customer’s nominated key holders (or their nominee), in connection with their taking of any action on foot of an Alert, save that, the indemnity provided herein shall not apply to claims made against Sonic Security Systems which arise solely due to Sonic Security Systems negligence. 
 

Ownership of Goods 

In the event that the Customer already has an alarm system, which was previously fitted by another service provider, Sonic Security Systems shall carry out the Services on the Sonic Security Systems as if it was fitted by Sonic Security Systems (which the parties acknowledge may require changes be made to conform with a Sonic Security Systems System).  Title and property to the Security System shall always remain with the Customer. In the event that Sonic Security Systems is required to install or provide any additional equipment to ensure that the customer’s current alarm system is compatible with the Sonic Security Systems System, this additional equipment remains the property of Sonic Security Systems. 
 
In the event that Sonic Security Systems installs a new Security System for the Customer, Sonic Security Systems shall retain ownership of the Security System in its entirety until any upfront installation payment due by the Customer is received by Sonic Security Systems and the Minimum Term has expired excluding retained property. If the agreement is terminated by the Customer prior to the expiry of the Minimum Term, the Customer shall repay to Sonic Security Systems all installation costs as set out in the original invoice. In all instances Sonic Security Systems shall retain ownership of retained property including control equipment, communication equipment and signaling equipment. 

In respect of Customers renting an Alarm System, Sonic Security Systems shall retain ownership of the Security System at all times. The Security System is provided to the Customer on a rental basis only for the duration of the Agreement. Upon termination of the Agreement (howsoever arising), Sonic Security Systems shall retake possession of the Security System. 
 
For the avoidance of doubt, any security system existing at the Premises which is not a Sonic Security Systems system, shall remain the property of the Customer upon termination of the Agreement (howsoever caused). 

Remedies of any Defects 

All products installed by Sonic Security Systems are covered by a 12-month parts and labour warranty. The Security System will correspond with the product warranty. The warranty does not extend to parts, materials or equipment supplied to you by persons other than Us and We will not be liable for any defect arising from:  

(a) failure by you to follow instructions given by us or from misuse of the Security System;  

(b) the undertaking of work on the Security System (including alteration, reinstallation, moving, relocation, conversion or adaptation or repair of the System) by persons other than us; and/or  

(c) fair wear and tear. 

You will not be entitled to replacement parts of the Security System free of charge where the part is no longer available from the manufacturer or is obsolete, and where batteries have become depleted outside of their 2-year warranty. We will notify you if a requested part is unavailable. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you resulting from such unavailability or obsolescence.  

In the event that there is any defect with the Security System and/or the Service, please contact us and tell us as soon as reasonably possible and we will use every effort to repair or fix the defect as soon as reasonably practicable. 

Installation 

We reserve the right at any time to cancel your installation based on your geographical location, if the premises is outside of our area of coverage for providing our installation service which will be outlined at the time of initial contact but is completely to our discretion and may change at any time without prior notice. 

We will always try to have your security system installed within 10 working days from the time you confirm your installation, however if this is not possible Sonic Security Systems will not be held responsible for any loss suffered by you. 

An installation may take longer than originally estimated or quoted due to a force majeure event. 

Where an installation requires erection of poles, underground cabling, redecoration, exceptionally high ceilings, walls thicker than 300mm without prior disclosure there will be an additional charge. 

WEBSITE PURCHASES 

Availability of items purchased on our website 

All items advertised for sale on our website are subject to availability. If an item you want to order is out of stock or unavailable, it will be stated on the website or we will inform you by email or by phone. 
We will not charge you for any items we cannot supply for any reason therefore, a full refund for the unavailable item will be issued to you. 

Delivery 
Delivery Charges 
The cost of shipping your goods depends on where you live and the total weight of the order. 

We may need to add an additional fee to your delivery charges after your order has been placed. We will not you of this in writing if this occurs. If you wish to cancel your order at this stage, we will issue you a full refund.

5KG to 19KG - €7.95 

20KG+ - €9.95 

Delivery Times 
Delivery of items should take place within 10 working days. This date is an estimate and delivery times are not guaranteed, we will of course get in contact with you in regards to the expected delivery if the wait will be greater than 10 working days. 

Returns 

  • “Change Of Mind Returns” - You can return your order for a full refund (excluding shipping costs) at any time within 30 days of us dispatching your order.  
    For us to process a refund all items must be in original re-saleable condition.  
    To return something to us please contact us at info@sonicsecurity.ie within 30 days for receiving your order.  

  • Damaged in transit - If you receive goods which have been damaged in transit, we will replace the item(s) at no cost to you. If this happens, please: Refuse to accept delivery of the item or sign the delivery note stating the goods have arrived damaged 
    Then please contact us info@sonicsecurity.ie within 7 days of receipt. We will then provide you with the details of a replacement item. 

  • Faulty/Damaged Product Returns Policy - If we send you goods that are faulty or incomplete, we will either replace or repair them at no cost to you. If this happens, please: 
    contact us at info@sonicsecurity.ie within 7 days of receipt of the item. We will send you a returns acknowledgement email by reply with all return details.  
    Arrange for the return of the item to the specified address within 7 days of receipt of the returns acknowledgement email from us. 
    Please ensure that the item that you return is complete with all supplied manuals, components and packaging. 
    Once we get the item, we will test it. Where it seen to be faulty, we will send you a replacement item as soon as possible or repair it. If the item is proven not to be faulty, then we will happily return the item back to you at your expense along with the details of how to use it correctly. 
    For any returns of products that have proven to be faulty, we will refund any carriage charges incurred by you (to a maximum of our standard delivery charges). We do however reserve the right to nominate the carrier for any returns by you. 
    Any refunds for faulty items will be issued within 7 days of resolution of the matter (or quicker if we can). Refunds will be made on the same credit card or debit card that you made initial payment on only. 

  • Faulty within warranty 
    If a product develops a fault within its manufacturer's warranty period you are entitled to a repair, refund or replacement at our discretion.  
    Please note that any goods returned as faulty where no fault is found after testing may incur a handling / restocking charge to cover our costs - but we will inform you at every stage of this process. This charge is calculated as either an amount of €10.00 being a minimum charge, or 10% of the invoice value (whichever is the greater). 

  • Cancellation Policy 
    Orders that have not yet been delivered may be cancelled prior to it being dispatched to you by contact us here with the subject 'CANCELLATION REQUEST' in the subject field. Please include a valid order number any such correspondence. 

  • How to return goods to us 
    Email info@sonicsecurity.ie with the subject “PRODUCT RETURNS” and we will reply within 72 hours to give full return details. 
    Please note: 
    Unless it is a result of our error, or the goods are faulty or incomplete on arrival to you, you may be liable for the costs of returning goods to us and any extra delivery charges incurred. 

Payment and Security 

We accept payment through our card processor Stripe. Your credit card information is never stored on our servers. Stripe is a fully PCI compliant card processor. See stripe.com for more information. 

Tax Charges 

All items sold on our website are priced including VAT at 23%. Our VAT number is IE3506338NH
